Jonnatan Mendez hired as
Director Complex Loss

ProNet Group is pleased to announce that Mr. Jonnatan Mendez, P.E., SI, has been hired as Director – Complex Loss.  Mr. Mendez is a Senior Structural and Construction Engineer with seventeen (17) years of experience in structural design and analysis, and forensic investigations related to commercial and residential buildings.  He has extensive experience with low/mid-rise buildings, multi-family structures, and various commercial facilities, and has provided expert testimony in trial and depositions.

 

Mr. Mendez examines buildings and produces engineering documents to achieve resolution for deficiencies in design, construction, and detrimental conditions that resulted in life-safety violations.  Evaluations include a wide range of construction systems and components including foundations, building envelope, roof coverings, fenestration, curtainwalls, wood framing and prefabricated trusses, steel, aluminum, and light-gage (cold-formed) metal framing, cladding, and reinforced and precast concrete beams, columns, and walls.  Additionally, he has served as Special Inspector of threshold buildings and performed code prescribed structural 40/50 Year building re-certifications in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

 

Mr. Mendez is knowledgeable of the current Florida Building Code (FBC), International Building Code (IBC), American Society of Civil Engineers – Minimum Design Loads for buildings (ASCE 7), American Concrete Institute (ACI 318), American Institute of Steel Construction including seismic provisions (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), Aluminum Design Manual (ADM), Post-Tensioning Manual (PTI), National Design Standard (NDS) for wood design, and the American National Standards Institute for light gage metal design.
