Mark Fields hired as Fire O&C Investigator

Mr. Fields (IAAI-CFI, NAFI-CFEI) has over twenty (20) years of experience in the fire and law enforcement services, with seven (7) plus years leading and managing the investigation of fire scenes.  He has personally conducted over 1,000 fire/explosion origin and cause investigations during his career with the Charlottesville VA police department, military/government contractors, and in the private sector.  Part of his work as a government contractor included the investigation of over 600 post blast/IED incidents.  He has acted as an expert witness for fire origin and cause in private and public cases and has qualified as an expert witness in trial in Virginia.

 

Since 2016, Mr. Fields has worked in the private forensics field conducting fire and explosion investigations for industrial, commercial, and residential structures, heavy machinery, vehicles, marine vessels, and wildlands.  Additional experience includes fatal fire investigations and improvised explosives.
