Forensic Vehicle Investigators and Accident Reconstruction Experts

in our Dallas office to conduct failure analyses of vehicles including fire origin and cause and mechanical investigations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct vehicle investigations

  • Obtain engine fluid and fire samples

  • Research recalls and technical bulletins  

  • Conduct fire investigations in accordance with NFPA 921

  • Good communication skills

  • Provide and prepare oral and written reports

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of vehicle investigation experience

  • ASE and CFVI and/or CFI

  • Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferred)

  • Associates Degree in Fire Science a plus

  • Familiarity and experience with all types of cars, trucks and heavy duty vehicles

  • Accident Reconstruction experience a BIG plus

  • 30-50% travel throughout DFW and occasionally all parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas

In first 90 days, must be able to stay in Houston for multiple weeks for training purposes.

Civil/Structural Project Engineer

to conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise and residential buildings.  Position is available in our Orlando (Maitland) office.

Typical engineering assignments include determining the cause of structural failures, construction defects, water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, flooring damages, foundation/settlement, and more.

Additional projects include storm damage assessments, sinkhole investigations, fire damage and structural integrity evaluations, and providing professional opinions and expert witness testimony.

Duties:

  • Determine the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects.

  • Conduct field inspections to document onsite conditions.

  • Conduct roof damage evaluations for residential and commercial structures.

  • Conduct moisture/water intrusion damage evaluations.

  • Prepare and provide oral and written reports.

  • May be called upon for expert witness testimony.

  • 50/50 field work and office duties

 Requirements:

  • BSCE

  • 8+ years experience

  • NCEES (Preferred)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of building materials, residential and commercial construction, and building codes

  • Geotechnical experience and expertise a bonus!

Fire Investigator

needed to conduct forensic investigations of commercial and residential buildings and vehicles. Determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions, primarily involving structures and vehicular-type equipment. Conduct field inspections and document onsite conditions. This includes scene photography, interviewing witnesses, evidence/data gathering, report preparation, and testifying in related depositions or trials. Prepare and provide oral and written reports. Associates Degree in Fire Science, 10+ years related experience, must presently hold a CFI and/or CFEI certifications or be qualified to test for both, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Mechanical Engineer (P.E.)

to conduct engineering evaluations of failed consumer and industrial products, analysis of equipment and machinery design, and evaluations of industrial safety and accident and deliver expert witness testimony in deposition and trial.
Preferred candidates will have experience with HVAC (residential, commercial and industrial), mechanical failure analysis, and product liability analysis. Someone with MEP design, contracting and facility operations experience is a plus. P.E. license in Texas and/or Florida is absolute requirement.  Facilities operations experience is preferred.
If ACTAR certified, additional assignments may include performing reconstruction of vehicle collision accidents.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BSME

  • 10+ years of professional experience

  • P.E. license in Texas and/or Florida (required)

  • ACTAR certified (preferred)

  • Familiarity and experience with all types of HVAC, water heater, boiler and machinery

  • Familiarity with accident failures and accidents
